Christian James-Watkins was born in Newport, South Wales (1993). Whist at school he started volunteering with a national advocacy service for children and young people which provided him with training to be a peer advocate and the opportunity to be involved with a number of consultations. In 2011 Christian was elected Sabbatical Students Union President at Coleg Gwent representing around 30,000 students. He also took a motion to the NUS Wales National Conference to make the Vice President role FE specific. In 2012 he was studying as an apprentice with British Airways Interior Engineering at Coleg y Cymoedd where he was elected onto the Student Parliament. He was also a member of Democratic Procedures Committee at the NUS Wales. In 2013 he started studying for his undergraduate in Law at Bangor University. Christian was a member of the student parliament and a class representative. Not long after starting his undergraduate NYAS offered him the opportunity to be involved in several consultations conducted by Dr Julia Brophy, and several meetings with Sir James Munby. In 2014 - 2016 he was safety and training officer for Titan Sound and Light. In 2015 - 2016 he was gadgets editor at Seren Bangor. Christian is now undertaking his LPC and Masters at the University of Law. He is also a student advisor on the Family Email Advice Line, and at the Legal Advice Centre.
